The author should be aware of the publishers market. Do not mistakenly send your work to an adult publisher. You should be able to answer questions regarding why children would want to read your book and why teachers would like to use it. Most importantly, they should be able to justify why the parents would want to buy it for their children. If the publisher is satisfied with the answers, the book has greater chances of being published. It is advisable for the authors to test the manuscript among few children to see what their reaction is.
